A Maple Seed, a Cherry, a Walnut and an Acorn find the embrace of the dark rich Earth. The Earth holds them in her arms as she dances around her faithful partner the Sun. The Cold of Winter and the Heat of Summer come and go many times, and the Seeds grow into the beautiful Trees they were meant to be. The Wind, the Rain, the Sun and Moon Light, form and guide them... The Wood that this bench is crafted from holds this Story, as old as time, in its every fiber. As I used my hands to build it, I meditated on this story. I also acknowledged the skill passed to me from my Elders, who in teaching me the art of woodworking, connected me to a thread going back tens of thousands of years. The thread of a Story that starts with the Human who first shaped Wood into a useful form using Bone and Stone... It is my hope that a bit of the Love and Gratitude that I held and used to create this bench is felt by each person who sits on it. When the day comes many years from now, when this bench gives up its form, decaying back to the Soil, I would like to think the essence of my intentions will infuse themselves in a Seed. As it grows into a beautiful tree, the Sun spins his partner one more time.-
